What does SACCO and group lending software cover?
SACCO software manages a cooperative's members, savings, share capital, loans, dividends and meetings. Group lending software manages groups, their members and the loans made to them. LoanTabs includes both, on the free trial and the Corporate and Enterprise plans, linked to the same borrowers, cash accounts and books as your loan book.
The SACCO add-on has its own SACCO workspace in the menu. Each member is linked to a borrower record, so a member who borrows has savings, shares and loans in one place. Group lending has its own Groups menu, where a group has members and leaders, a meeting day and loans, and where the whole group's repayments are collected on one sheet.
Everything posts to your cash accounts and your double-entry books, so member savings appear on the balance sheet and a deposit appears in the cash ledger. Your loans, borrowers, payments and reports work exactly as before.
Group lending, built on the same loan book
A group has members, leaders, a meeting day and a place. You lend to each member or to the group as a whole, and at the meeting you tick who came, enter what each loan received and post every payment at once, each on the right loan with its own receipt.
